Name: Stigma and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) York Hospital Lunch & Learn Program
Date: February 15, 2018
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EST
Event Description:
Words matter! Recovery from addiction is possible, and yet many people with alcohol and drug problems don't seek help. Research shows that one reason is the shame they feel and the stigma they face in the community. Join us at this informative lunch & learn discussion, where participants will hear from people in recovery about their personal experiences and will learn concrete actions they can take to reduce stigma and help support people in recovery in their community. Presenters: Alison Jones Webb, MPH, President, Nautilus Public Health and recovery advocate; Jesse Harvey, Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist and founder of Journey House recovery residences in York County; and Jeana Coggins, Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, mother and mentor. Complimentary light lunch and refreshments provided. Space is limited; RSVP to York Hospital's Friendraising Office at 207-351-2835 or email
York Public Library, 15 Long Sands Road, York, ME 03909
